News: Team Announces Solar Cell Standards of Measurement

A team of Taiwan researchers has received international recognition for a new set of standards developed for photovoltaic (PV) technology, the China Post has reported.

The team was formed by researchers from the government-sponsored Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the Atomic Energy Council’s Institute of Nuclear Energy Research and a number of local universities and companies. The new measurement standards, code-named SEMI PV57-1214, are the first Taiwan-developed PV standards receiving international recognition, and are designed for measuring the performance of dye-sensitized solar cells and organic solar cells, according to the industry group Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI).
