Taiwan Power Co. (Taipower) on January 12 announced its plans to invest over NT$400 billion (around US$12 billion) for the development of renewable energy, Focus Taiwan has reported.
The investment project will be dedicated to increasing the capacity of offshore and land-based wind power, solar power and thermal power in a span of fifteen years. According to Taipower’s plan, the increased capacity of offshore wind energy and solar power will top 180 and 100 MW, respectively. Target for land-based wind energy and thermal power is set at 70 MW.
