News: Wind Adds 13GW New Capacity in Europe in 2015

Wind energy had played an important role in new power installation across Europe in 2015, the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) reported, quoting a report published by European Wind Energy Association.

According to the report, wind accounted for 44% of all new power installations across 28 EU member states, connecting a total of 12.8GW to the grid. The new installation capacity saw a year-on-year growth of 6.3% from 2014. Total wind capacity in Europe now reaches 142GW, and covers 11.4% of Europe’s electricity needs.
