Continuing its efforts in promoting renewable energies, Taiwan will aim to install 1.52 GW of solar PV capacity by 2018, Focus Taiwan has reported. The goal was announced at a regular Cabinet meeting on September 8.
According to the plan proposed by the Bureau of Energy under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the targeted 1.52GW of installed capacity will include 910 MW of rooftop-mounted and 610 MW of ground-mounted solar PV systems. In the next two years, the preset target is expected to attract an investment of NT$91.2 billion (US$2.92 billion).
