News: Offshore Wind Power Consortium Kicks Off in Kaohsiung

Aiming to further explore the development of offshore wind power in Taiwan, a Marine Team alliance was formed in Kaohsiung, Taiwan Today has reported.

The establishment of the engineering team has represented Taiwan’s continuing efforts to explore the potential of green power. The Team, led by shipbuilder CSBC Corporation, includes Industrial Technology Research Institute, Taiwan Power Company and China Steel Corporation and several local marine engineering heavyweights. The Team’s goal is to install offshore wind power system with capacity of 520 MW by 2020, and expand the systems to generate 3,000 MW by 2025.
